Monday MTB-Challenge.
Who are the best technical MTB riders in the MTBO world and are full suspension MTB's really that much better than normal MTB's? Have you ever been wondering about this?? We have, and therefore we have decided to get the questions settled once and for all.

The "battlefield" will be a new very technical MTB track in Geel Skov, the forest where we will have the sprint training monday afternoon. The plan is to start the challenge after the spring training. We will find the best individual riders and the best national teams. A team consists of three persons and it's the total time for the three riders that counts. Due to the track being 95% single track and hardly leaving any room for overtaking we will most likely use a 30 seconds starting interval.

The Danes have already signed up with two teams. Off course we expect them to win, this being home field and all, but to give them a little challenge, we hope all you Russians, Finns, Swiss, Czech etc. etc. will take up the challenge. Additionally we will try to convince the local MTB club to send a team, and we might even get some of these conservative foot orienteers to send a team that will compete in foot.

Send a mail to jesperdamgaard@yahoo.com if you are interested in doing the challenge, so we have a rough idea about the total number of riders. You can also sign up during the first days at the camp off course.

About the track: It was designed in autumn 2008 and there is now a very neat single track on the whole route - except one section where it is really steep and only the best riders will stay on their bikes. 95% of the route is single track and passes through a mixture of connifer and pine forest. The are many hills - not long ones (since this is Denmark) but quite steep ones. The fastest riders should be able to ride the track in 25-30 minutes. The route is clearly marked with blue paint spots. We will sent up additional markings on cross roads ect. A few photos can be found here: http://www.mtbtracks.dk/spor-pa-sjaelland/94-geel-skov.html
We might put up some more on the camp webside during the next week.
